Who We Are
Hextar Capital Berhad (formerly known as OPCOM Holdings Berhad) was incorporated in November 1994 as a private limited company and subsequently listed on the MESDAQ (now known as ACE) Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in December 2003. The Group is principally engaged in four core business segments: manufacturing, network engineering, telecommunication network infrastructure solutions, and power generation & renewable energy.
From 2022 onwards, we embarked on a series of acquisitions to expand our core business, diversifying into new revenue streams with the addition of EPCC for power generation & transmission, construction of telecommunication towers, growing demand for data centre, property development opportunities, and satellite communication services to capitalize on opportunities with increasing demand for 5G infrastructure.

Today, Hextar Capital Berhad (formerly known as Opcom Holdings Berhad) has made a brand name on its own in the communications space with a strong position to becoming the leading manufacturer and services of fiber optic cables, network engineering, communication services, and power transmission and generation in Malaysia.
History
Incorporated in November 1994 as the holding company for OCSB, which was established the same year as a manufacturer of fiber optic cables.
Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd entered into a Technical Collaboration Agreement and Management Assistance Agreement for the transfer of technology know-hows.
Begin commercial production for fibre optic cables.
Listed on the MESDAQ (now known as ACE) market of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
Incorporation of Opcom Shared Services Sdn Bhd with principal activity to provide management services.
Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd entered into General Purchase Agreement with Ericsson Network Technologies AB, Sweden where Ericsson’s companies and subsidiaries may purchase cable related products for various applications.
Opcom Cables Sdn Bhd signed the Addendum II Agreement to extend and supplement the Technical Collaboration Agreement with Ericsson Network Technologies AB, Sweden.
Unigel Compounds Sdn Bhd acquired 40% of the equity interest in Unigel (UK) Limited ("UUK") from Unigel Limited, Hong Kong ("UHK"). UUK is a wholly owned subsidiary of UHK.
Incorporation of Opcom Trading Sdn Bhd for general trading including trading of cable related materials components and industrial materials.
Incorporation of Opcom Engineering Services Sdn Bhd to provide engineering services provider to the telecommunications and power utilities industry and also act as distributors, agents, and solutions providers for telecommunications products in Malaysia.
Unigel Compounds Sdn Bhd invested in fiber reinforced plastics (FRP) rod production lines.
Acquisition of T & J Engineering Sdn Bhd, a telecommunication network infrastructure service provider based in Sarawak.
Acquisition of Transgrid Ventures Sdn Bhd, a power generation and transmission business, and new diversification.
Opcom acquires stake in Binasat Communication Berhad, a telecommunications network listed company on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Opcom Holdings Berhad changed its name to Hextar Capital Berhad.
Unigel Compounds Sdn Bhd disposed of 40% of its equity interest in both Unigel (UK) Limited and Unigel IP Limited.
